30 Days with Jesus… Day 6

Day 6

Reading from Luke 1:46-56

Mary responded (to Elizabeth), “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!

For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed. For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me.

He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him. His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones.

He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands.

He has helped his servant Israel and remembered to be merciful. For he made this promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and his children forever.”

Mary stayed with Elizabeth about three months and then went back to her own home. Luke 1:46‭-‬56 NLT

Mary was such a lovely young Jewish girl who loved and obeyed God. I imagine she must have learned about God and lived by His words her whole life and now she was stepping into the most significant history of all.

It must be very hard for Mary to be carrying Jesus for 9 months. What did she eat and drink during those days? Oh, and what did she do when she became hormonal? I remember it was already so difficult for me to be pregnant as a fully grown woman. But Mary was a teen. Oh, what a strong young woman she was! 💪🏻

It’s amazing how God chose people to do things for Him. People of ordinary lives. Some love God from their younger days and others have the change of heart.

Did you know that I was raised in a Buddhist family? In my younger days, I did what other non believers do. I also did palm readings, Tarot cards, Reiki etc.

When I met Jesus, I threw away and stopped doing those things. I trust Him when He says He is the way, the truth and the life… And I’m following Him.

Honestly, I’m so honoured to have heard about God’s grace through Jesus. I’m glad that I don’t have to be born in a Jewish family to be called God’s child.

LORD, Thank you. 🙏🏻
