Beautiful Eulogy

image

I’ve been listening to the Beautiful Eulogy lately while spending a quiet time reflecting about my whole life in 2014.

Honestly, the year didn’t end well for me because I received a bad news from my family about my dad being in a coma. They were all supposed to enjoy their vacation in Thailand. And now it just got messy.

Four days prior the year ended, the day started beautifully as it was the first day of snow in town. I remember I had my morning walk with thanks giving to the Creator. I thanked Him for the snow and many things. I loved feeling the snowflakes on my face. I enjoyed hearing the sound of snow being crushed under my feet while walking and smelling the fresh air. God was so awesome.

Then I returned home and felt so sick in my stomach. The news hit me hard and it broke my heart. I felt very angry and stuck. I cried heaps and my eyes were sore. Adding to that, I felt as if my spirit was being crushed like a bug. But then I realised that there was only a thin line between life and death, praise and curse. So I chose to lift myself up with music and prayers, proclimaing His words.

Today is the first day of 2015. I thank God that He is always good and faithful to me. Many times things happen in life and I don’t really get them. Many things just leave me stunned and I feel like punching the wall. But thank God I can choose. I choose life and praising Him no matter what.

In the midst of this mess, I must remind myself that God is always good…and awesome.

Worshipping The French Way

GLORIOUS-ELECTRO-POP-LOUANGE-COVER

France is well known for their wine, cheese, cuisine, arts, museums, monuments, high fashion, great perfumes, skin cares, tour de France etc (Oh, did I forget the French kiss?!?). But I am still in search of the French Worship. Since I am living in France for quite a while now, I am yearning for a unique worship i.e. worshipping in French, the French way.

Looking for French Worship groups or bands to me is like looking for a needle in a haystack; it’s so hard to find! Many times I’d stumble on the songs that are sung by Canadian or African francophones or the French songs that have been translated from English. They are pretty good, but I just wish that France would produce more of their own original worship music.

Fortunately, I at least found one of the French Worship bands that is original and relevant. Oh, what a relief! Glorious (the band) is formed in 2002 by three brothers from Valence; Aurélien, Benjamin and Thomas Pouzin. Their worshipping style is electro-pop, which is one of my cups of tea. They recently launched their new single from the album called Église Lyon Centre (Lyon Centre Church), which will be out during Easter next year.

Here is a little taste of Glorious: Notre Père (Our Father).

Here is the lyric video.

This song is simply extracted from The Lord’s Prayer. It expresses our hearts as God’s children to our Heavenly Father. I find French itself, is a beautiful language. The language gets even more fascinating when it is sung as worship. I think God is happy when He hears His children singing to Him in many languages. French is one of them and it should be sung as it is more often.

Anyway, if you fell in love with this French Worship, feel free to find out more bands at Rejoyce Musique which launches a few French Christian bands. Yes, like I said earlier, there are not as many French Worship or Christian bands out there. I wish there will be more to come, in Jesus’ name.

Music gives you wings

image

Music…to me is like an energy drink; I feel great after consuming it.

The Good Christian Music Blog is where I discover new bands and the taste of new sounds. It’s awesome how the GCMB provides so many genres of music. You can easily choose different kinds of tunes through their playlists. I usually select one and let it roll.

So far I’ve been into Electronica and Hip Hop lately. They are my favourite source of energy. Like after waking up in the morning, I’d turn on some beats that lift me up and I’ll be ready for the day. Christian music makes me feel like as if I have wings; I can stay high up all day and my heart is happy.

Here are 2 samples of Electronica that I really like. They are easy listening. Every time I put on my favourite headphone and sit on my sweet spot, I’d be gone into the space.

Below are Hip Hop samples. I hand picked the ones that ain’t so agressive. Just in case you cannot handle the beats so I choose the 2 songs that would rather soothe your ears. Hope you enjoy them and feel great afterwards.

If you dig the tunes, feel free to subscribe, like and share The Good Christian Music Blog’s Youtube Channel.👍

We are the remnants

Remnants

We hear your voice calling us now
We follow your lead shaking the ground
For this is the time to gather
So let’s present our names, our flames.

We are, we are, we are
What we are called to be
We are, we are, we are
We are the remnants.

We will rise up and make some noise
We will sing and shout for joy
For You are the great I AM
Let us praise Your name, Your fame.

We are, we are, we are
What we are called to be
We are, we are, we are
We are the remnants.

Here we are with burning hearts
Here we are soaring high
For we are Your remnants.
