Worshipping The French Way

GLORIOUS-ELECTRO-POP-LOUANGE-COVER

France is well known for their wine, cheese, cuisine, arts, museums, monuments, high fashion, great perfumes, skin cares, tour de France etc (Oh, did I forget the French kiss?!?). But I am still in search of the French Worship. Since I am living in France for quite a while now, I am yearning for a unique worship i.e. worshipping in French, the French way.

Looking for French Worship groups or bands to me is like looking for a needle in a haystack; it’s so hard to find! Many times I’d stumble on the songs that are sung by Canadian or African francophones or the French songs that have been translated from English. They are pretty good, but I just wish that France would produce more of their own original worship music.

Fortunately, I at least found one of the French Worship bands that is original and relevant. Oh, what a relief! Glorious (the band) is formed in 2002 by three brothers from Valence; Aurélien, Benjamin and Thomas Pouzin. Their worshipping style is electro-pop, which is one of my cups of tea. They recently launched their new single from the album called Église Lyon Centre (Lyon Centre Church), which will be out during Easter next year.

Here is a little taste of Glorious: Notre Père (Our Father).

Here is the lyric video.

This song is simply extracted from The Lord’s Prayer. It expresses our hearts as God’s children to our Heavenly Father. I find French itself, is a beautiful language. The language gets even more fascinating when it is sung as worship. I think God is happy when He hears His children singing to Him in many languages. French is one of them and it should be sung as it is more often.

Anyway, if you fell in love with this French Worship, feel free to find out more bands at Rejoyce Musique which launches a few French Christian bands. Yes, like I said earlier, there are not as many French Worship or Christian bands out there. I wish there will be more to come, in Jesus’ name.

Love Your Neighbour

Neighbours

I’ve been pondering…

Jesus said that we must love God with all our heart, our soul and our mind, and also love others as ourselves. These are the greatest commandments for everything flows out of love.

To me, the first part is very easy to do because I know that God loves me and He is so good etc. It is the second part that I’ve been pondering about: loving my neighbour(s) as myself.

What if I:
● Self harm?
● Always think low of myself?
● Talk bad to myself?
● Don’t respect myself?
● Don’t take care of myself?
● Don’t accept myself?
● Don’t forgive myself?

Then loving others would be minimal. I think loving others is a reflection of loving myself. So if I am like what I have mentioned above, then I know I have some works to do.
